Women Find 8,693 Ways to Boost Well-Being
In a survey, women identified 8,693 self-care actions they use for their well-being. The survey was designed to find out how women respond to growth and change at different ages. Responses varied widely, but similarities also occurred. The developmental stages of age, education, and number of children showed the most similarities. Among the health-boosters:
- Deliberate avoidance of foods and beverages that contain alcohol, caffeine, and chocolate
- Eating at the table instead of in front of the television
- Developing talents, interests, or religious and spiritual activities
- Drinking water
- Avoiding smoky environments
- Preventive safety, such as seat belts, personal hygiene, and weight control
