The Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) today named Therese B. Pandl the President and CEO of the Hospital Sisters Health System’s Eastern Wisconsin Division. Pandl is also named as President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), based in Springfield, IL, sponsors three hospitals in Eastern Wisconsin⎯St. Nicholas in Sheboygan, and St. Vincent and St. Mary’s in Green Bay. The Eastern Wisconsin Division covers eleven counties in Wisconsin and upper Michigan.

Pandl, 56, is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Columbia St. Mary’s, a large hospital system in Milwaukee. She will be succeeding James G. Coller, who has served HSHS for over 25 years, most recently as President of the Eastern Wisconsin Division. Coller will be retiring in February, 2010, and will continue to serve HSHS as a senior advisor until that time.

The announcement was made before groups of community leaders, physicians and hospital staff at ceremonies at each of the three hospitals. “Therese is a seasoned health care professional who has a passionate commitment to Catholic health care and our Franciscan ministries. She has a demonstrated record of commitment to mission integration, improved patient satisfaction, clinical quality and operational performance,” said Stephanie S. McCutcheon, president and chief executive officer of the Hospital Sisters Health System. “We exalt the tremendous career James Coller has contributed to our ministries at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, St. Mary’s Hospital Health Center in Green Bay, the Eastern Wisconsin Division and Prevea Health. We are delighted that he will provide orientation and consultation for Therese and we are all excited to find a successor of Therese’s caliber to continue our ministry in Eastern Wisconsin.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to coordinate the ministry of the three Catholic hospitals in Eastern Wisconsin,” said Pandl. “We will, under the wisdom and guidance of our Sisters, continue to enhance our mutual planning while not sacrificing the uniqueness of each hospital’s special culture and service role. Our future is very bright, and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
