As caregivers, women often put their needs last. But you can’t give your best if you’re not taking care of yourself first. At A Woman’s Place, we are advocates of prevention, promoters of good health and a place to network and learn.
What does A Woman’s Place do?
A Woman’s Place seeks to improve the health of women and their families in Northeast Wisconsin by providing reliable information, education, support and advocacy for women of all ages.

A Woman’s Place also provides community education classes on a variety of health and family issues. Topics include:

Health resource center library
A Woman’s Place provides a free, easy-access library completely devoted to the subject of health with 2,500 items available for check out. Pamphlets, books, books on tape and videos on a wide range of topics are available.
Hispanic health education and outreach program
A Woman’s Place serves the Latino community of Northeast Wisconsin with a Hispanic Outreach Program that provides:
- Information and referral to community
- Coordination of services
- Supportive services
- Assistance in making medical appointments and telephone calls regarding billing questions and medical services
- Advocacy for those with acute and chronic health needs
- Health screenings and free reproductive cancer screenings to eligible women
- Educational classes for health issues such as diabetes
- Exercise classes
- Latino women support group

The Loan Closet
The Loan Closet offers a private dignified setting where women experiencing the effects associated with cancer treatments can select hats, wigs, breast prostheses and bras for their use at no cost.
