Advance Mission

  • Improve overall patient experience by 10% as a result of “connecting compassionately” with patient/family. 
  • Increase staff compliance of appropriate use of recycle containers as evidenced by an increase in weight of recycled items by 5%.
  • Continue standardization of nursing practices through policies, procedures and education utilizing evidence and best practice as evidenced by a 25% increase in divisional policies. (Nursing Leadership Council). 

Embrace Excellence

  • Increase number of events reported by 5% identifying trends to improve patient care. 
  • Partner with EWD Falls Committee and co-lead fall prevention as evidenced by a 5% decrease in falls (baseline 2017).
  • Decrease the number of mislabeled specimens by 5% (baseline 2017).

Develop our People

  • Improve Nursing Engagement to the 75th percentile.
    • (Develop standards and appropriate tool kits for flex staff to enhance staffing and patient safety).
  • Implement redesigned Nursing Education and Professional Development program (NEPD) by December 2017.
  • Increase nursing education preparation to BSN or higher by 5% annually by 2020.

Drive Value

  • Co-lead Nursing Value Analysis Team with Supply Chain and decrease supply costs by 2%. 
  • Standardize patient education across the EWD as evidenced by 100% decrease in outdated patient education material.  
    • (Assess patient education material for evidenced-based practice and compare to current state.  Determine ideal state and develop action plan to get there).
