Gaining Pounds Between Pregnancies May Cause Health Problems

If you’re planning a second child, it’s important to maintain a healthy weight between pregnancies. One study showed that a weight gain of only about 7 pounds could raise your risk of developing high blood pressure or gestational diabetes in your second pregnancy. And, a gain of about 18 pounds may mean a 60% higher risk for stillbirth. Talk with your doctor about your diet and exercise habits so you can reach and maintain a healthy weight. It’s good for you and your next baby.
