Smaller Tableware May Help You
Lose Weight

Baby Bear’s small bowl probably was just right—especially if Goldilocks was trying to control her weight. Using Papa Bear–sized tableware may lead you to dish up more food than you need.

In one study, nutrition experts unknowingly served themselves about 30% more ice cream if they were given a 34-ounce bowl rather than a 17-ounce bowl. That figure jumped to nearly 60% more if they also used a larger serving spoon.
